At Moms at Work, advocacy isn’t just something we talk about, it’s something we invest in. This year, we launched the Moms at Work Advocacy Fund: a $5,000 commitment to support local, grassroots environmental and public-education projects across Canada. Our goal is simple: empower people who are already doing the work to make their communities stronger, cleaner, and more equitable.
This fund is designed for action, not awareness. From food forests to inclusive trail systems to school-based restorative justice programs, our winners reflect the creativity and dedication found in communities nationwide. Below, we’re thrilled to introduce the four recipients of this year’s grants and share the impact of our Collective members are helping to create.
Green Cities Foundation
The Green Cities Foundation is dedicated to creating greener, healthier cities by supporting community partners who build and enhance local green spaces. Their work ranges from restorative gardens to Indigenous-led gathering spaces, and their recent 2025 projects have touched communities from Edmonton to Moncton, Toronto, London, and Vancouver. Their mission—to connect plants and people in ways that strengthen urban climate resilience—aligns deeply with our vision for community-driven change.

Green Guardians Moncton
Green Guardians Moncton is a grassroots, family-led initiative committed to keeping their city clean—one bag at a time! Started by a mother and son determined to make environmental action simple, visible, and community-driven, their weekly clean-ups have already caught the attention of local media and inspired many others to step up. Their motto, “One Week, One Bag,” captures both their commitment and their belief that small, consistent actions create meaningful change.
Our funding will help expand this grassroots litter-cleanup initiative and increase community engagement:

Completely Inclusive
Completely Inclusive is bringing restorative justice (RJ) practices into K–6 classrooms to reduce bullying and equip children with strong social-emotional communication skills. Their work is rooted in evidence-based approaches that help schools prevent harm before it happens, while addressing the disproportionate impact of punitive discipline on Black, Indigenous, and disabled students. By introducing RJ early, they are helping kids learn to repair relationships, resolve conflict, and build inclusive communities.
Our funding will help bring restorative justice practices to more students and strengthen school-based prevention efforts:

Canadian Disabled Outdoor Society (CanDO Society)
The CanDO Society works to make nature accessible for people with disabilities by improving trail accessibility, offering adaptive equipment, and creating opportunities for individuals to explore outdoor spaces safely and confidently. Their work includes creating Inclusive Trail Tools, offering no-cost adaptive mountain biking (aMTB) demos and coaching in the Ottawa and Gatineau region, and partnering with landowners to expand access to nature across Canada.
